Silent Auction Attracts Fans, Dollars

A Celebration of Arts & Learning Raises $50,000 for CAPE

CAPE’s silent auction at the Hotel Palomar Chicago on September 15 was a huge success. Guests enjoyed wine and a sumptuous buffet, listened to the Northside College Preparatory High School string quartet and the Bethune Elementary School Drumline. Students from Telpochcalli Elementary School chatted with guests and showed off their own art. Guest photos, complete with costumes, were fun souvenirs of a wonderful evening.

More than $50,000 was raised to support CAPE’s arts integration programs in CPS schools. Auction winners will be relaxing on the beach at Antigua, enjoying Chicago theater and restaurants, cheering for the city’s sports teams, and enjoying the extraordinary art created by professional artists and CAPE students. Bidding by text message enhanced the experience and enabled CAPE to raise more money than ever.
