CAPE believes that reflection and documentation processes make a significant contribution to teacher and artist learning. At the end of every school year, CAPE Veteran Partnerships gather to share ideas and to exhibit the units they worked on during that year.

CAPE's practice of supporting exhibition and performance of student work to a larger public also greatly enhaces student and teacher empowerment, as they know their art will be shared by more than just a handful of their peers.

In addition to providing an in-depth view of arts integrated curriculum that investigates student learning processes, the fair is also a culmination of the partnership teams' action research. In designing a unit, each teacher and artist develops an inquiry question that they would like to see addressed or answered throughout the course of the unit.

Teachers, artists and students collect evidence to answer their inquiry questions, and present this evidence through a variety of media, including text, student drawings, sculpture, video, digital photography, audio and PowerPoint as part of their documentation strategies. The installations and demonstrations shown at Convergence 2010 will include the artwork created by students as they learned academic content from science, math, social studies and language arts through CAPE's arts integration methodology, which partners public school teachers with professional artists.

In 2010, the CAPE Veteran Partnership included the following Chicago Public Schools:
• Louis J. Agassiz Elementary School
• Augustus H. Burley Elementary School
