CAPE'S COMMITMENT TO RESEARCH
CAPE sees research as something that should be embedded in practice, not as a single initiative funded through a one-time project.
CAPE's intent is to have research that is purposeful, and linked to professional development and documentation.

CAPE'S VISION OF RESEARCH
CAPE has:

a collective commitment to move beyond "short sharp, shallow light-house projects", into sustainable structures that enact the already existing highly effective practices in arts in learning, and that actively investigate the character and structure of these effective practices with an eye to understanding how they can "scale up";

a parallel commitment to move beyond "short sharp, shallow research" into sustainable structures that enact innovative and effective practices in arts in learning research, and that actively investigate the character and structure of these effective practices with an eye to understanding how this kind of research can be "scaled up", attract new young researchers into the practice, and be communicated to a rich range of audiences and publics.
